GEORGE L. SAVVIDES & CO LLC was incorporated in 2010 as a lawyers’ limited
liability company, and constitutes a transition from GEORGE L SAVVIDES & CO.
Who we are
GEORGE L. SAVVIDES & CO was initially established in 1984 in Limassol as a sole practitioner’s firm. It has since grown to be one of the established law firms in Cyprus, which, as a rule, is dominated by sole practitioners, or small family firms.
In 1994 the firm merged with the law firm of Markos S. Kyprianou & Co which was based in Nicosia and operates since then in the two major cities of Cyprus. Markos S. Kyprianou had remained a partner of the merged firm until 2003 when he withdrew following his full time engagement in politics as a Minister of Finance, as the first Cypriot Commissioner of the EU and then as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus.
Although essentially a business law firm, our services extend to cover most of our international and local clients’ needs in Cyprus. The clientele of the firm comprises inter alia of local and international banks, insurance companies, international and local hoteliers and tour operators, international betting companies, ship owning and ship management companies, international trademark and patent agencies, pharmaceutical companies, manufacturers of industrial goods and machineries and international investors. Leading international law firms frequently instruct our firm to assist them on their clients’ Cypriot law needs.
